The Throne

The Throne is a 10-day immersion into the Seven Thrones of Umbanda, held at Osho Lua Ecological Sanctuary in Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Chapada dos Veadeiros, Brazil. Through a rhythm of prayer, ritual, sacred song, study, herbal traditions, offerings, and daily immersion in nature, participants explore the cosmology of Umbanda and deepen their relationship with the Orixás—the sacred forces expressed throughout the natural world.
Umbanda teaches that every aspect of creation expresses a particular quality of the sacred. Water teaches differently than fire. The forest teaches differently than stone. Wind carries lessons that cannot be learned through books alone. The Seven Thrones are a way of understanding these expressions of life and the Orixás who govern them. Over ten days, we learn not by observing nature from a distance, but by entering into relationship with it.
The Seven Thrones
Within Umbanda, the Seven Thrones are the primary expressions through which Divine Creation is organized and sustained. Each Throne reflects a fundamental current of life, governing particular qualities of existence while manifesting through the Orixás and the natural world.
Together, they offer a way of understanding the rhythms that shape both nature and human experience. They remind us that creation is not random, but woven through complementary forces that continually seek balance, transformation, growth, justice, love, wisdom, and faith.
Throughout the immersion, each day is devoted to one Throne. Rather than studying these principles only through discussion, we encounter them through prayer, ritual, sacred song, offerings, contemplation, and direct relationship with the landscapes that embody their teachings.
